Why not just use a Word template?
Word and Excel templates break their own math, lose their formatting between computers, and make every invoice a copy-paste job. This generator does the GST arithmetic for you, titles the document correctly (“Tax invoice” only if you’re GST-registered — an ATO rule most templates get wrong), and produces a clean PDF your customers can’t accidentally edit.
What a valid tax invoice must include
For sales of $82.50 or more (including GST): the words “Tax invoice”, the seller’s identity and ABN, the date, a description of what was sold (with quantity), and the GST amount or a statement that GST is included. Sales over $1,000 also need the buyer’s identity or ABN. This template covers all of it — just fill in your details.
Invoice vs tax invoice
Only GST-registered businesses may issue a document titled “Tax invoice”. If you’re not registered (under $75,000 turnover and haven’t opted in), your document is simply an “Invoice” with no GST — untick the GST box above and the template handles it correctly.
