Delete your account
Last updated: 19 July 2026
You can have your UpBill account and data permanently deleted at any time. Here's how it works, what's removed, and what to do before you go.
1. How to delete your account
In the app or on the web: go to Settings → Delete account → "Request account deletion". Because you're signed in, the request is verified automatically and final — we'll email you an acknowledgment, and deletion completes within 30 days. Change your mind in that window? Reply to the acknowledgment email.
Can't log in? Email support@upbill.io from the email address on your UpBill account with the subject "Delete my account" — for email requests we'll verify it's really you before deleting.
Deletion is irreversible — there is no undo and no recovery.
2. What gets deleted
Your login, your organisation, and everything in it: invoices, quotes, customers, products, payment records, statements, reports and your uploaded logo.
Your subscription is cancelled as part of deletion if it's still active — you won't be charged again.
3. What we may keep
Records we are legally required to retain (for example, financial records that Australian law requires businesses to keep for a number of years) are kept only as required and are deleted or de-identified after that. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Invoices you sent to your customers are their business records too — copies they received by email are theirs and outside our control.
4. Deleting some data without closing your account
You can delete individual records yourself, any time, from inside UpBill: draft invoices and quotes, products, and customers (customers with invoice history are archived instead, so your financial records stay intact).
For anything you can't remove in the app, email support@upbill.io from your account email describing what you'd like deleted — we'll action it unless the record is part of legally-required financial history, and we'll tell you either way.
5. Before you delete
Download anything you need first: invoice PDFs, statements, and report exports (PDF, CSV or Excel) are all available from your account while it's active — and remember your own record-keeping obligations (for example, to the ATO) continue after deletion.
If you simply stop subscribing instead of requesting deletion, your data follows our standard schedule: read-only for 30 days, archived for 12 months (reactivate any time to restore it), then permanently deleted.
